Corn is a tall grass plant that was first grown in North America around 10,000 years ago and is grown for its kernels. All types of corn have male corn tassels that pollinate female corn silks, but different kinds of corn are grown for different uses, including popcorn, fuel, animal feed, peanut butter and soda.
