The Faroe Islands is an island group that comprises 18 major islands, 17 of which are inhabited. The territory has a total of 779 islands, islets, and skerries. The main islands are Streymoy, Eysturoy, Vágar, Suduroy, Sandoy, Bordoy, and Svínoy. Streymoy is the largest and most populated island.
